“With the birth of colour, came the birth of liquid"
A world drenched in mundane reality and a society of structured, colourless living designed to bring ease and joy to people’s lives begins to crumble.
From a single drop of colour that begins to spread amongst us, these layers in society begin to deteriorate and peel back. For the first time, fresh, green tones emerge and bleed into society and enforce a new way of living upon everyone.
The saturation is turned up and individuals begin processing it in countless ways (embracing, ignorance and fear). This change of colour has left its mark on the world and its people. A shift that has forced societies to adapt, leaving countless casualties in a state of shock or saturation.
However, the fearless amongst the crowd whom embrace colour will carry the weight of this change and help shift everyone to a newly coloured way of existence.
CONCEPT ORIGIN
My FMP concept took a big shift as soon as the pandemic started to turn our life's upside down into this big confusion; it was practically impossible for me not to take inspiration from this massive movement.
Just weeks before my hand-in I completely changed the ways of my collection and replaced the virus with the idea of a 'drop of colour' which saturates and spreads into our structured society and breaks it apart (much like the virus did). I feel like a lot of uncovered feelings and emotions were brought to surface through this pandemic. This made us revaluate the way our society has falsely structured itself with the impression that as long as we follow the designed guidelines of oppression and silence we will be happy but it is time to question the injustices within those portrayed guidelines and make them right by colouring our society and world in a new way.

Along with some of my closest friends we decided to bring this reality to live through fashion, dance and art.
